Romulus

Romulus

Romulus is one of the two moons orbiting the asteroid 87 Sylvia, discovered on February 18, 2001, by a team of astronomers using the Keck II telescope in Hawaii. Alongside its sibling moon Remus, Romulus constitutes a fascinating double asteroid system around 87 Sylvia. Romulus is the larger of the two moons, with an estimated diameter of about 18 kilometers. Its discovery contributed significantly to our understanding of multiple asteroid systems and their intricate dynamics.
