96 Aegle
Asteroid 96 Aegle, discovered on February 17, 1868, by the German astronomer Robert Luther, is a member of the asteroid belt situated between Mars and Jupiter. Named after Aegle, one of the Heliades in Greek mythology and the daughter of Helios, this asteroid holds an estimated diameter of approximately 94 kilometers (58 miles). Aegle orbits the Sun at an average distance of about 396 million kilometers (246 million miles), completing its orbit in roughly 5.5 Earth years.
