65 Cybele
Asteroid 65 Cybele is a sizable member of the asteroid belt situated between Mars and Jupiter. Discovered on March 8, 1861, by the German astronomer Ernst Wilhelm Tempel, Cybele is named after the Phrygian goddess associated with nature and fertility. With an estimated diameter of approximately 240 kilometers (149 miles), Cybele ranks as one of the larger asteroids within the belt. Its orbit around the Sun takes approximately 4.51 Earth years to complete, positioned at an average distance of about 446 million kilometers (277 million miles) from the Sun.
