Asteroid 6 Hebe, discovered on July 1, 1847, by the German astronomer Karl Ludwig Hencke, is a significant member of the asteroid belt positioned between Mars and Jupiter. Named after Hebe, the Greek goddess of youth and daughter of Zeus and Hera, this asteroid has an estimated diameter of approximately 186 kilometers (116 miles). Hebe orbits the Sun at an average distance of about 405 million kilometers (252 million miles), completing its orbit in roughly 3.8 Earth years.
