3 Juno
Asteroid 3 Juno, discovered on September 1, 1804, by the German astronomer Karl Ludwig Harding, is a prominent member of the asteroid belt located between Mars and Jupiter. Named after the Roman goddess Juno, the asteroid is one of the first to be discovered and classified as a minor planet. With an estimated diameter of approximately 233 kilometers (145 miles), Juno ranks among the larger asteroids in the belt. Its orbit around the Sun takes roughly 4.36 Earth years to complete, positioned at an average distance of about 394 million kilometers (245 million miles) from the Sun. While observations using telescopes have provided insights into its size, shape, and orbit, detailed information about Juno's surface features and composition remains somewhat limited compared to asteroids that have been the focus of dedicated space missions or extensive studies.
