Berkelium
Berkelium is a synthetic, radioactive element created through human-made nuclear reactions and is virtually absent in natural cosmic settings. As a result of its artificial production, berkelium is exceptionally rare beyond Earth and has minimal relevance in astronomical contexts. Its isotopes have very short half-lives, ranging from days to hundreds of years, further contributing to its scarcity and absence in celestial bodies or cosmic environments. Berkelium’s synthetic nature and the challenge of its production limit its occurrence outside of laboratory settings, such as in nuclear reactors or as a byproduct of nuclear processes.
