Tucana III
Tucana III is a noteworthy satellite dwarf galaxy sharing similarities with the dwarf galaxy Reticulum II in terms of size and luminosity. If situated at 25 kpc, it would be among the closest ultra-faint satellite galaxies, comparable to Segue 1, Reticulum II, and Ursa Major II. There is a possible association with tidal stripping by the Milky Way's gravitational potential. Despite potential tidal effects, the main body of Tucana III appears relatively round. Proximity to the Large Magellanic Cloud and the Small Magellanic Cloud raises the prospect of a physical association. Its importance for indirect dark matter searches is noted, but evidence of tidal stripping implies a substantial removal of its outer dark matter halo. Nevertheless, accurate determination of the mass within the stellar core remains feasible.
