Aquarius II
Aquarius II is a faint dwarf spheroidal galaxy found within the Aquarius constellation. Discovered in data from the Dark Energy Survey (DES) in 2015, this satellite galaxy is located at approximately 180,000 light-years from Earth. Aquarius II exhibits typical characteristics of a dwarf galaxy, featuring an old stellar population with predominantly metal-poor stars. It possesses a relatively small half-light radius, estimated to be around 31 parsecs, and has a low luminosity, with an absolute magnitude of approximately -2.5.
